Today’s Date: April 30, 2012

Job Summary: The Outreach & Development Assistant will be responsible for coordinating community outreach programs, including the Improviser-in-Residence program. The ODA will also assist the Guelph Jazz Festival with fund development, fundraising, special events, marketing and public relations.

Responsibilities of the Position:

Outreach Activities:

  • Assist in coordination and scheduling of outreach programs and activities
  • Liaise with Improviser-in-Residence to provide transportation, accommodation and logistical arrangements where required
  • Work with GJF, ICASP, and partner organizations to provide administrative support
  • Coordinate on-site arrangements for events, programs, and performances

Development Activities:

  • Support and collaborate with the GJF Director of Development to secure sponsorships, fundraise, and ensure long-term funding for GJF activities and the Improviser-in Residence-program
  • Perform donor and prospect research on individuals, corporations, and foundations
  • Write formal letters and applications for support to individuals, corporations and foundations
  • Assist with the execution of sponsorship and giving campaigns
  • Support submission of funding requests and reports (e.g. compile necessary documents, coordinate mailings)
  • Assist with patron and sponsor data management

Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication and public relations skills, including experience and proficiency in formal written communication (writing samples may be requested from candidates)
  • Able to multi-task and manage the completion of multiple projects and conflicting deadlines while working under direct supervision and independently
  • Excellent organizational skills; able to work within deadlines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs
  • Previous experience working with database software preferred
  • Previous fundraising, administrative, and research experience preferred
  • Marketing experience an asset

Other Information:

Development and Outreach work activities will be split 50/50. The Outreach and Development Assistant will spend approximately 50% of his/her time at the Guelph Jazz Festival office, supervised by the Guelph Jazz Festival’s Director of Development. The remainder of time will be spent at the ICASP project office (University of Guelph), supervised by the ICASP Project Manager.

Position: Help Desk Agent

Hours of Work: This is an hourly contract position. Hours of operation range from 7 am – 1 am daily. Staff will be required to work statutory holidays, afternoons, evenings, and weekends as required. 

Benefits:

4% vacation pay compensation via biweekly payroll.

End of contract bonus of $0.75/hr for each hour worked under contract.

Quality bonus of $0.50/hr for each hour worked under contract.

Reports To: Help Desk Supervisor 

Position Purpose:

The Help Desk Agent is responsible for providing technical support as needed for all end users of the Everest software system. This position works closely with staff from various local, provincial and state park agencies. The Help Desk Agent is expected to resolve client and customer concerns as well as maintaining and supporting internal office operations and systems at Camis. 

Principal Accountabilities:

    • Responding to all reported technical troubleshooting issues from Everest software end users

    • Responding to Everest product and Camis client policy inquiries

    • Provide remote technical support for all hardware, software and networking related problems

    • Work with third party service providers to resolve customer and client concerns

    • Accurately report technical issues and generate detailed tickets as appropriate

    • Maintaining accurate and up to date knowledge base articles

    • Handle complex customer, agent and park inquiries

    • Work closely with the Operations, IT Support and Development teams to resolve client and customer concerns

    • Supports and demonstrates commitment to quality customer service and high performance

    • Adhere to all quality and efficiency measurables set based on company need

    • Provide on-site service to Camis client locations throughout North America as directed

    • Perform programming, deployments, setup or database tasks as required

    • Assisting with remote check-in at select locations for the yellow phone project in Washington state

    • Special projects as deemed necessary for the success of Camis Inc. as assigned by the Help Desk Team Lead

    • Answers reservation calls to assist with maintaining service levels as business need dictates

Position Requirements

It is expected that interviewing candidates have an understanding of LAN and WAN components and how these relate specifically to the Camis environment. 

Education/ Experience:

  • Technical Diploma or Degree in computer science or similar field experience is an asset

  • Previous experience providing remote technical support to a multi customer organization

  • Previous customer service experience

  • Demonstrated technical trouble shooting abilities

  • Demonstrated computer literacy skill set

  • Knowledge of park computer network set up is an asset

  • Demonstrated team player abilities as well as excellent self management skills

Office Clerk - Parking Office

 

Resumes are being accepted for the temporary position of Office Clerk within the Parking Services division at the

City of Guelph. Reporting to the Supervisor, Parking Facilities, the successful candidate will provide clerical

support to the Parking Services division of the Public Works Department.

HOURS OF WORK: 35 hours per week Monday to Friday between the hours of 8:30 am and 4:30 pm. This is a
